BioHouston, Inc.: Catalyst for Life Science Technology Commercialization in the Houston Region

Event Information :
BioHouston is a non-profit consortium of major regional research and higher education institutions, government and economic development entities, life science and biotech companies, and venture capital firms. In its efforts to facilitate the commercialization of the $1.4 billion of research conducted in the region, BioHouston leads a broad range of initiatives designed to create an increasingly vibrant life science cluster. This talk will provide an update on BioHouston's many initiatives.

Biography:
Jason Moore is Project Manger at BioHouston, where he manages such initiatives as the BioHouston Life Science Industry Census, the pharma strategic alliance program, the Regulatory Affairs Roundtable, and the BioHouston portfolio of services, and he teaches a "Biotech 101" course. Prior to coming to BioHouston, Jason was responsible for new-drug development and registration activities, primarily in oncology and infectious diseases, for both established and development-stage biotechnology companies, including Amgen, Introgen Therapeutics, Antigenics, and Aronex Pharmaceuticals. Jason provided financial modeling and quantitative risk assessment for business development, product-portfolio management, and strategic decision-making for several of these companies. Jason began his biotech career as a medical writer, including work with the National Institutes of Health and the Texas Heart Institute. Jason also provides regulatory and medical writing consulting, working principally with researchers in academic institutions. He holds an M.S. in science and technology journalism from Texas A&M University and an M.B.A. from the University of Houston C.T. Bauer College of Business.
