Company Information:
PharmaFrontiers™ is a commercialization driven biotechnology cellular therapy company that develops autologous personalized cell therapies for the treatment of various diseases. The Company is focused on its proprietary stem cell and T-cell technologies for the autologous use of peripheral blood derived adult stem cells in regerative medicine as well as T-cells for the treatment of autoimmune diseases amenable to T-cell based therapies. The Company is currently developing the strategies for the use of monocyte derived stem cells (MDSC) in pre-clinical safety and effectiveness studies for the treatment of congestive heart failure (CHF) and type 1 diabetes (T1D). Cardiac tissue regeneration using MDSCs and pancreatic beta cell-differentiated MDSCs in diabetes are targeted as the first stem cell indications. The Company is currently in Phase I/II clinical trails with its novel T-cell therapy TovaxinTM for the treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Speaker Information:
With over 30 years of scientific research and biopharmaceutical development experience, Dr. Williams has spent the last fourteen years dedicated to the regulatory process for biological products from both U.S. and worldwide perspectives. Most recently, he served as Vice President of Clinical and Regulatory Affairs and as Chief Operating Officer for Opexa Pharmaceuticals, Inc.
Prior corporate positions include Senior Vice President, Regulatory Affairs and Operations for OSIRIS Therapeutics, Inc., Vice President US Regulatory Affairs for Powderject Vaccines, Assistant Vice President, Worldwide Regulatory Affairs for Wyeth BioPharma, and as Executive Director Regulatory Affairs for Aventis Pasteur. Dr. Williams retired as Captain from the U.S. Public Health Service with over twenty years of service in human-use product development which included assignments with the FDA, Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research as a Director Scientist in the Division of Vaccine and Related Product Applications; the US Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases and the National Institutes of Health, National Institutes of Allergy and Infectious Diseases as Chief, Intracellular Pathogens branch; and at the US Naval Medical Research Institute as a research microbiologist. He has an extensive research and development background with over 130 publications and four books in the areas of infectious diseases, vaccinology and oncology. He received his B.S. degree in animal science, M.S. degree in genetics and Ph.D. degree in biochemistry from Texas A&M Univeristy.
