Bio/Medical Technology Club of Houston Meeting Announcement
Meeting Topic:
“Near-Term Commercialization Prospects and Issues for
Adult Stem Cell Technology: How to do something good for humanity
(well within the bounds of bioethics) and make money at the same time”
Speaker:
Dr. David C. Bonner,
Chairman, President, and CEO
Regenetech®,
Dr. David C. Bonner, Chairman, President, and CEO of Regenetech®, has been Managing Director of Pretium Consulting Services, LLC, a provider of business consultation and intellectual property strategy services.

Dr. Bonner has extensive experience in executive business management as well as technology development. Dr. Bonner has led six start-up ventures and has extensive global licensing experience. He championed one of the first spin-out companies from the University of Texas at Austin.
Dr. Bonner earned his Ph.D. degree at the University of California, Berkeley, and was named a Distinguished Engineering Graduate of the University of Texas in 2001. He has served on several National Academies Boards and Committees and has published more than 50 technical papers in refereed journals.
The Company: Regenetech®, Inc.,
Regenetech®, Inc., develops and sells intellectual property licenses for Adult Stem Cell "Expansion" (increasing the number of Adult Stem Cells) and therapeutic applications of expanded Adult Stem Cells for tissue regeneration based on its proprietary technology in combination with technology licensed from NASA.
Regenetech® uses a technology, patented by NASA, which was discovered in space experiments for expanding Adult Stem Cells in a three-dimensional (3D) weightless environment. This technology expands the number of Adult Stem Cells in an environment simulating conditions in which the cell would grow naturally in the human body - but at greater rates. The greater rates of expansion of Adult Stem Cells with the NASA technology are due to the simulated weightless environment in the IntrifugeT Bioreactor and the Time-Varying Magnetic Field simulating the earth's magnetic field encountered in Space Shuttle and MIR Space Station experiments.
Adult Stem Cells can be harvested from the patient's own blood. With Regenetech®'s technology, the original, harvested Adult Stem Cell population is then expanded to therapeutic quantities in a few days, eliminating the inherent problem of obtaining sufficient Adult Stem Cells for therapeutic use. This minimally invasive procedure reintroduces the patient's own Adult Stem Cells to generate red and white blood cells, platelets, and tissue regeneration. Adult Stem Cells from Regenetech®'s proprietary processes will have an immediate impact on the replenishment of white blood cells, red blood cells, red blood cell platelets, and the immune system destroyed by disease, trauma, and chemotherapy or radiation treatments. Other therapeutic uses are anticipated in the near term. www.regenetch.com
