Michael Coleman, PhD

InGeneron, Inc.
Michael Coleman received his BS in Animal Science from Texas A&M University and his PhD in Animal Science with a Biochemistry minor from The Pennsylvania State University where he was a USDA Fellow. He did postdoctoral work in the laboratory of Dr. Robert Schwartz in the Department of Cell Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. Over the past 12 years Dr. Coleman held various positions with GeneMedicine, Inc and Valentis, Inc before joining Centelion, SAS (a subsidiary of Sanofi-Aventis) as VP in charge of R&D in January 2003. Dr. Coleman returned to Texas from France in June 2006 to join InGeneron, Inc as President and CEO. Dr Coleman’s primary experience has been in preclinical and early clinical development. During his career Dr. Coleman has authored or co-authored more than 25 publications in refereed journals, directly managed the preclinical development of three drugs that successfully transitioned to phase I clinical trials, and overseen the successful completion of a phase II clinical program for a novel PAD therapy that is now scheduled to enter phase III.
